Sustainable development and the extent to which it has been achieved in Libya

In an effort to bridge the gap between theory and practice, students of the Economic Development course in the Department of Economics organized a workshop on Monday, December 22nd, entitled:


“Sustainable Development and the Extent of Achieving its Goals in Libya.” The workshop was led and supervised by Dr. Fatima Milad.


A select group of experts from the Libyan Ministry of Planning participated, presenting on national efforts to implement the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the challenges and opportunities associated with their application in the Libyan economy. This presentation enriched the discussion and connected academic concepts with practical realities.


The workshop was attended by the Dean of the Faculty of Accounting, several faculty members, and a number of students. The workshop was characterized by fruitful academic interaction and constructive discussions, reflecting the importance of engaging students and faculty in national development issues and preparing them to actively contribute to achieving these goals.


This workshop is part of the Department of Economics' efforts to support academic activities that promote awareness of sustainable development and underscores the university's role as an active partner in serving the community and achieving development goals in Libya.
